This painting was created during isolation after my husband contracted COVID. Luckily he had virtually no symptoms. It gave me a great appreciation and sadness for those who were forced into isolation in apartments and hotel rooms for longer periods … no garden to pace around and minimal fresh air and envy of the free pigeon!

Australia is a resilient country with resilient people. Both suffer fire, flood, cyclone and drought and yet still manage to survive. However, now it is so sad to see more species being added to the endangered list, increased extreme weather events and our natural World Heritage sites being downgraded. People are suffering at their own hand. One can only hope that we can undo the damage so our need for resilience is lessened.
